Our first conference was in January '98 prior to our first mission tour. 35 people attended. We were excited to welcome Trevor McLeod (then of Sports Outreach) to share with us as we launched a big vision.
1999 we welcomed 32 to the conference including Barry Sutton of Auckland. Barry challenged us about where we were going and what we were hoping to achieve in our personal lives.
We goal to have 50 attend these conferences. Not because we're interested in numbers, but because we believe in the vision the Lord has given us and want to share it.
Conference 2000
2000 year didn't quite meet our number expectations either. We had thirty five planning to attend, but a number pulled out for various reasons ending up with 25 at conference.
We believe the Lord brings the right people to the events we run and we are always thankful. The last thing we are wanting to do is pressure people to be involved in what we are doing.
We had a great time over the weekend of training, socialising, strategising, worshipping and laughing. More than fifty percent of those at camp expressed an interest in Germany 2001 as well as the various soccer camps throughout next year.
