Summer At Marilyn's Place: Summer Rhapsody

As we sit here on the porch,
As we do our 75th celebrate,
An exotic time I do remember,
A time that occurred early in the last century.

Just a country boy and girl,
We did run off to wed,
Me a farm hand, her a waitress,
But we shared a love so real.

Had no money for a room,
So we slept under the stars,
On a hill in South Dakota,
Just my new wife and I.

We made love our first time,
Under a large long-leaf pine,
Seeing her, my life-long love,
Lying there under a full moon.

Yes, they were exotic moments,
It was an exotic time,
Today, as we are old,
Our wheelchairs side-by-side.

But as I do hold her hand,
It does things to me,
Makes me feel oh so good,
For exotic moments, she still gives me.
