COMMITTEES

Here is what's happening on each of our five standing committees:

Projects & Fundraising	Board member Carolyn Reed will be heading up the 2003 Pet Fair. Committee chairman Buzz Minnich serves as committee chairman. Our tentative date for the fair is Saturday, Aug. 9. Carolyn will announce a fair organizational meeting in a few weeks.
Maintenance & Planning	Co-Chairman Fred Nicas will install heads on the new, 360-degree sprinklers in the center of the park soon. During the recent maintenance work, workers snapped one of the perimeter sprinklers and broke one of the four main lines; the city will have to make repairs before we can turn that quadrant on. Jim Knutson is the other co-chair and is watering the six newly planted trees every morning.
Membership	Co-Chairwomen Carolyn Reed and Shirlee Hitchcock are seeking new members -- and renewals. Old members and new can use our online membership form, which will save us some postage.
Communications & Advertising	Chairman Jim Walters is assembling the spring issue of our Paw Prints newsletter; board member Shirlee Hitchcock is soliciting ads. If you have a short story to contribute or would like to buy a $35 business-card sized ad, email us. Look for additional news the association's Bark Board bulletin board at the main entrance; the public is asked to use the second board, on the south fence, for their postings. Remember: The city does not allow the posting of any kind of money-making notice in public parks.
Nominations & Elections	Pablo Drobny is chairing this committee. A referendum vote is forthcoming to change our Articles of Incorporation and our Bylaws to allow the association to assist the city with additional off-leash areas in the city.
