"PRIVATE DANCER"

She dances with her eyes closed,
alone and in pain.
Wanting to close the world out,
so she can't be hurt again.

The beautiful picture she creates,
is so removed from how she feels.
Lost within each graceful movement,
is all the hurt which won't heal.

Dancing makes her feel free,
as she spins around the floor.
Free to be who she wants to be,
without feeling she should be more.

Lost in a world of her own,
she can hold onto her heart.
Allowing no one to get close enough,
to once again tear her heart apart.

But if only this sad ballerina,
could open her eyes and see.
She would know so many love her,
for all who she wants to be.
