IN 1997, MY DAUGHTERS AND I WENT ON A TRIP WITH MY PARENTS.  WE GOT TO VISIT MY GREAT-GRANDMA'S PLACE..  IT WAS AMAZING THE CABIN WAS STILL THERE.  THE BACKGROUND TO THIS PAGE IS HER BACKYARD.  THE CREEK HAS A NATURAL SPRING AND USED TO HAVE A COLD HOUSE BUILT ON IT. THAT IS WHERE MILK, BUTTER AND OTHER SUCH  ITEMS WERE STORED.
A NATURAL REFRIGERATOR.
My memories of great-grandma's place are funny. My father has always been a somewhat shy person.  When I was little and my family went there for a visit, my dad had to go to the restroom (a outhouse).  He began yelling and came running out of the outhouse with his trousers down around his ankles.  He was tripping, crying, and shouting a few choice words.  Everyone was laughing, but Dad.  He was in pain, because a duck was hanging off his privates.  What a silly sight.  Him being a modest person made it that much funnier.

Another childhood memory is swimming in the creek that was in front of the cabin.  My older brother and sister hated swimming in it, because of all the critters and the cow poop.  I loved it.  It was cool and refreshing....you just had to dodged the natural material.

To get to the cabin you had to drive through the creek.  If it had rained a lot and the creek was high you had to cross by walking on a log.
