MOREL MUSHROOMS
It's hard to believe, but less than 10 years ago I had never heard of morel mushrooms, but now I'm addicted to them.  I have included some basic tips and recipes.
When hunting for these delicious morels, use a bag that lets air circulate~like a net bag that onions and potatoes come in.  When you bring them home, soak in salted, cold water to clean and expel some of the tiny insects that live in them.  Prepare them as quickly as possible for cooking, freezing or drying them.
My favorite way to eat morels is deep fried.

DEEP FRIED MORELS
24 morels
Larger mushrooms, cut in half lenghtwise, leave smaller ones whole.
1-1 1/2 cup flour
2 Tablespoons salt
2 teaspoons pepper
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk or buttermilk

Place flour in a pie pan or med..size bowl.  In another pie plate beat the eggs with the milk.   Coat mushrooms with flour.   After coating all of the mushrooms, add salt and pepper to remaining flour, adding more flour if necessary.  Dip mushrooms in egg mixture, than into flour mixture, coating each one well.  Deep fry 7-9 minutes, drain on paper towels.
Warning: Make sure you leave enough for the meal while tasting!!
