800 Mhz scanning in the Quad-Cities area

Public Safety agencies in the Quad-Cities have started to embrace trunking and 800 Mhz frequencies like other areas of the county.

Davenport Community School District has a a three channel Johnson LTR system for their own use. Which Genesis Medical Center are using also. Which besides a three channel system for ALCOA (details unknown) are the only private systems in the area. Below is a table of conventional systems in the area.

While using the tone for FEDEX cuts out hearing the data on the channel. It does not on the W.G. Block channel.

An interesting frequency to monitor is 853.4875. It is used as a unofficial intinerant channel .
Rock Island County has a license for 15 frequencies, Which were used piecemeal on several local system sites for RACOM. Illinois State Police has a license for a five channel system at their Andover radio site, which seems to be headed to statewide digital trunked system. Medic & Illini Ambulance, Rock Island Arsenal, Milan PD, Moline and East Moline cities has gone to the Racom's EDACS system. Rock Island County Metropolitan Mass Transit District supposedly has a talkgroup for supervisors on an unknown system. Scott County & Bettendorf is now on Racom's system. The State of Iowa has a license for the 800 Mhz public safety mutual aid channels.
Nextel has licenses for several sites. There are ads in local newspapers for service & plans. Iowa Coverage Map ....Northern Illinois Coverage Map Nextel also purchased the Trunked Systems of Illowa and ChadMoore.
