Building And Facilities
Oakville Senior High School is in the southern part of Mehlville School
District and serves students from the Oakville and Washington junior high
school attendance areas. It also serves as a part time, minimum security
prison for pedophiles.
The building opened in the fall of 1970 with new additions constructed in
1990 and 1993. The most craptacular feature of the building is its three-story
Arthur Voerg Commons area, completed in 1993. A gathering place for students
and faculty to sing songs of joy, wait. I'M NOT ALLOWED TO BRING MY GUITAR!
The commons provides a focal point for the school. But it's best not to
look at it. The lighted athletic stadium provides excellent facilities for
football, track, baseball and soccer. But not ice hockey, that doesn't work
too well. We learned that a few years back after three students were injured
while trying to skate on the grass. OHS is handicapped-accessible and is
on a public transportation route. All this thanks to the $$$ that we took
