The Utility Furniture Pages
News and updates
4th September 2007. After 4 years, an update!
Well, it's been a while, but I've finally found the information I was searching for.
Thanks to those nice people at the
Twinwood Aviation Museum I have the loan of a copy of the 1948 Cabinet Maker Yearbook, which is packed full of adverts and information on the manufacturing side of Utility Furniture.

Added:
Official list of Utility Mark locations.

Still typing up:
List of UK manufacturers by code number. (Board of Trade)
Index of UK models by type and number.
Maximum UK manufacturer and supplier prices.
Furniture Ration Unit Values by item.
List of NI manufacturers. (Ministry of Commerce for Northern Ireland)
Index of NI models by type, number and manufacturer.
Maximum NI manufacturer and supplier prices.

Special!
The Imported Dutch Furniture Scheme by model, coming soon.

I'm tidying up the existing pages first, to make them easier to read on today's computers.
Wanted and For Sale Page
I don't have space for any more furniture at home, but I still get a lot of e-mail from people offering Utility Furniture for sale, or even for free.

So I've added a new page where I'll post up these items for anyone interested. To reduce unwanted spam e-mail addresses will be linked rather than plain text.

Send your sales and wants to the e-mail address on the index page.
3rd September 2003. New items found
Since I first started this site, I have aquired a few new items which have yet to heve their own pages written.

I found yet another folding occasional table, somewhat worse for wear after being used on a market stall in all weathers for years.

Also, while in Kidderminster a few weeks ago for the 1940's weekends on the Severn Valley Railway, I came across a large number of items in one of the charity shops. There were at least 2 complete wardrobe sets, all in excellent condition, 3 dressing tables and a chest of drawers. Not having suitable transport with me, I was unable to purchase them, sadly.
