Carl Bowman (1909 - 1998) served as a Vice President of P.E. O'Hair & Company 19xx until 1976, and as a Director of the company from 19xx until 1980(?). Carl, the eldest son of
John F. "Fritz" Bowman
and
Ethel Marie O'Hair Bowman, was a grandson of P.E. O'Hair. Carl was a graduate of Lowell High School and in 1927 attended the California School of Fine Arts on scholarship. Following his marriage in 1930 to Consuelo Narcisa Crowder, Carl entered the O'Hair family business, working first at
Bowman Plumbing Supply. and later at P.E. O'Hair & Co.'s 945 Bryant office. Carl and Consuelo had two children,
John
and Barbara. Following his retirement to Pacific Grove, California, Carl returned to art, becoming a prominent painter and member of the Monterey Peninsula art community. Carl's works were featured at the California School of Fine Arts, the Monterey Museum of Art, the Hauk gallery, and the Pacific Grove Art Center. In addition to art, Carl enjoyed golf and travel and was a member of the Olympic Club and the Monterey Peninsula Country Club.

until his retirement in 1953. Ethel and Fritz had three children:

O'Hair & Co. in 1951 following graduation from George Washington High School in San Francisco and studies at City College of San Francisco and Heald Business College. John was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve 499 Engineer Aviation Brigade from 1951 until 1957. At P.E. O'Hair & Co., he was a member of Teamsters Locat 860 until the late 1960's, when he moved into a series of management jobs. John's officer responsibilities included equipment standardization, facility planning, facility project management, and cost analysis.

in 1980(?), the Board of Directors appointed Kevin as President and Chief Executive Officer of P.E. O'Hair & Co. Kevin served in that role until the sale of the company to United Westburne in 1988, after which he served as President until leaving Westburne in the 1990's to pursue other opportunities in the supply business.

Cora O'Hair (1862 - 1931) was the wife of P.E. O'Hair. Cora, the daughter of Albert L. Allen and Anna Bethia Whitcomb, was born on May 5, 1862 in Lovelock, Butte County, California. Albert (1833 - 1922) was a native of Ontario, Canada. Albert married Anna, a native of
Hiram, Portage County, Ohio, on September 20, 1856 in
LeRoy, Mower County, Minnesota. Albert and Anna's first child, Edward, was born in Minnesota in 1858. The family moved to Butte County, California sometime prior to 1860, and it was there that their other eight children, Nellie, Cora, Albert, Leslie, Donnie, Pearl, Archie, Arden, Meda, and Kenneth were born. On November 8, 1882, Cora, age twenty, married Patrick Edward O'Hair in Chico, Butte County, California. Cora died in San Francisco, California on March 8, 1931 at the age of the age of sixty-eight.

Donald Leo O'Hair (1884 - 1947) was the second President of P.E. O'Hair and Co. Donald, the oldest of P.E. O'Hair's six children, was born in Chico, California, and moved with his parents to San Francisco in 1889. Donald attended St. Patrick's School through the fifth grade. He then transferred to Lincoln Grammar School from which he graduated. His education continued through the tenth grade of high school. Donald was an accomplished equestrian. He also was a competent violinist, playing in concerts, symphonies and operas. In 1900-1902 Donald played semi-pro baseball as first baseman for the Cavanaugh Baseball team. In 1903 and 1904, he played for the San Francisco Nationals. About 1906, Donald won the championship in the City Junior League for bowling. He was a member of the Olympic Club. Donald married Helen Wilkenson Lawrence in 1911. Donald and Helen had two children,
Donald Leigh (1913 - 1976) and
Douglas Rolph
(1917 - 1994). Donald Leo O'Hair helped establish the P.E. O'Hair & Co. business with his father, and succeeded him as President when Patrick died in 1923.

Neil O'Hair (1888 - 1963) was a Vice President of P.E. O'Hair Co. from 1932 until 1947, and became President in 1947 when his older brother, Donald, died. Neil served as President until his death in 1963. Neil, the second child of P.E. O'Hair, was born in Chico, California and in 1889 moved with his parents to San Francisco. Neil suffered from poor health all of his life. Neil attended the following schools in San Francisco: St. Patrick's, Hawthorne, and Lincoln Grammar School. His mother, Cora Allen O'Hair, and aunt,
Hattie O'Hair
tutored Neil while he attended school in Colusa from the sixth grade through the ninth grade. He continued his education via correspondence courses in salesmanship, history, mathematics and penmanship. Neil married Edythe Hall in about 1914. Neil and Edythe had one child,
Patrice Edith O'Hair. Neil and Edythe lived for many years on a ranch in Novato, California. After Neil's death, the ranch was acquired by the City of Novato and converted to a park -- "O'Hair Park."

Patrice attended school at St.Vincent's Convent in San Francisco and transferred to the Frederick Burk School, which was connected with San Francisco State Teacher's College. Patrice graduated from Burk after the ninth grade. She then enrolled in the California School of Fine Arts where she studied for three to four years. Patrice was an artist. She assisted in the O'Hair family business for five years. She was an invalid most of her life and lived with her mother and sisters,
Ethel
and
Cora.

Dick started his career with P.E. O'Hair & Co. in 1963 as purchasing agent at the Stockton branch of Western Plumbing Supply. By 1980, Dick was Manager of the Stockton branch and a Vice President of P.E. O'Hair & Co. Dick's officer duties included formalizing central stock inventories and central stock coordination for all fourteen branches, as well as managing the corporation's vendor relationships. Dick also served on the corporate Management and Marketing committees. Following the sale to Westburne, Dick was named Vice President - Purchasing. Dick and his wife Mattie Lou remained in Stockton following his retirement from P.E. O'Hair & Co. in the 1990's.

That year, she married Samuel Barry Whitehead III and together they raised two sons, Peter Barry and David Barry. In addition to her work with P.E. O'Hair & Co., Betty's interests included Stanford University sports, the Peninsula Volunteers, the May T. Morrison Rehabilitation Center, the Century Club of California, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Metropolitan Club.
