For My Son
I looked into your eyes,
And what did I see,
But reflections of your dad and I,
Looking back at me.
I cherish everyday,
That you are here,
For the end of life,
Can be ever so near.
I see you growing up,
Ever so fast.
Before you know it,
It'll all be a part of the past.
The memories of your childhood,
I'll cherish like gold,
To the day I die,
No matter how old.
There will be times in life,
You won't know what to do.
No matter what it is,
I will always be there for you.
