Venture Scout Training Scheme

General Scheme

The general scheme of the Venture Scout badge consists of :-

Three Progress Badges :    Venture Scout Standard ( VSS )

Venture Cord ( VSC )

The President’s Scout Award ( PSA )

Eight Proficiency Badges :  Leadership , Skill , Activity , Responsibility, Service ,

Citizenship, Personal Development and Self Reliance.

National Campaign Badges : National Heritage Trail Badge , Crime Prevention 

    Badge , Total Defence ( Gold ) Badge .

Permitted External Badges : National Youth Achievement Award , Adult First

   Aid ( Red Cross / St John ) and Lifesaving Bronze 

   Medallion or higher ( Singapore Lifesaving Society).

 

Method of  Wear

The Venture Scout Standard badge is worn on the left sleeve. The Venture Cord  badge , when gained , is worn in place of the Venture Standard badge and the President’s Scout Award, when gained , is worn in place of the Venture Cord badge.

The Venture Scout is allowed to wear a Special Cord over left shoulder flap when he has attained the Venture Cord . He/She can continue to wear the Special Cord after attaining the President’s Scout Award.

Eight Proficiency Badges and National Campaign Badge is worn on the right sleeve.

National Youth Achievement Award is worn on the chest just above the left pocket.

First Aid & Lifesaving Badges are worn on the left sleeve below the Progress Badge.

 

Matrix Scheme 

Both the Venture Scout Standard and Venture Cord development progress in a matrix systems of eight fields of proficiency. The Venture Scout who completed all requirements of the Venture Scout Standard ( Vertical progress ) will qualify for the Venture Scout Standard.

The Venture Scout who complete successfully all requirements within a field of Proficiency ( Horizontal progress ) from VSS to VC requirements stepwise , will qualify for the individual Proficiency Badge.

All the requirements of the Venture Scout Training Scheme should be done only after the youth member has registered with TSSA as a Venture Scout , except those exemption allowed within the Training Scheme.

 

Special

HQ Exploration test of Venture Cord will require the Venture Scout to possess the Venture Scout Standard and a recognized First Aid qualification before being allowed to take the test  

The requirements of Proficiency Badge, Citizenship & Personal Development , are shared between Venture Scout Standard and Venture Cord.
