Latest ten books that I've read(up to May 2008):

Criminal HIV Transmission ~ written and edited by Edwin J Bernard

This is a National Aids Manual publication and is a very good overview with the layman in mind so that lawyers, judges and solicitors can be better informed on HiV forensics, routes of transmission, etc.

Spike and Dru: Pretty Maids All in a Row by Christopher Golden

A paperback from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer franchise. It is set around the second world war, so is a complete stand alone novel as it pre-dates Buffy whilst using the Buffy mythos.

Gay Travels in the Muslim World, a compilation edited by Michael T. Luongo

I attended the book launch for this a wee while back at Gay's The Word bookshop. Some of it came across as sleazy porn, and the level of exploitation of youth by westerners was quite disturbing. Not the kind of book I thought I was going to be reading.

What is Druidry? by Emma Restall-Orr

Read this in preparation for a book group discussion. Definitely from the fluffier end of the spectrum.

Intimacy and Responsibility: The Criminalisation of HIV Transmission by Matthew Weait

The author is a lovely guy who was also my supervisor for my Masters of Law. It was interesting in the way it covered law, history, politics, epidemiology and health care all in one book.

Druid Priestess ~ EmmaRestall-Orr

May have worked better for me if she could decide whether she was writing a treatise on the pagan year in druidry or a fiction novel.

Un Lon Dun by China Miville

His first attempt at the Young Adult fiction market - following on from other adult fantasy writers like Neil Gaiman and Clive Barker. It worked quite well. His characters were often quite fantastical, but his ability for character development, pathos and believability remained intact, as did his love of political ideologies and intrigues.

Michael Tolliver Lives by Armistead Maupin

Despite Maupin claiming this is not a seventh book in the Tales of the City saga, this is very much what it seems to be. Re-visiting Mouse now that he is in his fifties, Mrs.Madrigal as a pensioner, and Shawna, the daughter of Brian & Mary Ann.Very emotive in places, some of which is more so for the brevity of detail on what happened in the intervening years between the "final" book in the Tales of the City series and this one.

Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman

An easy read of less than 100 pages as one of the books specially written and published for World Book Day 2008. Gaiman doing weel at what he does best, a simple story interwoven with mythology ( in this case, Norse Mythology).

Moab Is My Washpot by Stephen Fry

Stephen Fry's school year's autobiography, in which he describes himself as a child as basically being very unpleasant, but uses many more paragraphs and chapters to do so entertainingly.

Currently reading Ronald Hutton's The Druids.
