To avoid Li's furious attacks, Yang Guo and Wu Shuang jump down into the river where the white masked girl and Wanyan Ping are waiting on board a bamboo raft.

Safe from Li's clutches for now,
Wu Shuang asks Yang Guo who Xiao Long Nuu (Dragon Girl) is to him for Li had mentioned her name during their fight. Yang Guo tells her that she is his master. When Wu Shuang hears this, she is delighted. She asks him if her master is pretty and her happiness is quickly dashed when Yang Guo replies, "There is no other woman more beautiful than Gugu."

Their small talk is harshly ended when large rocks begin to fall from the cliffs, hitting and destroying their raft. When they reach the shore,
Li Mo Chou and Hong Ling Bo are waiting for them.

Just then, two great condors swoop down at the two women and attack them.
Yang Guo and his companions quickly hide behind a large boulder and watch the two women frantically trying to defend themselves from the birds. (NOTE: The condors belong to Guo Jing and his wife, Huang Rong, the leader of Beggar Sect Kung Fu. Wherever these birds are, it is no doubt that the  Guo couple is nearby.)

Li Mo Chou knows that they are no match against Guo Jing and Huang Rong and so she decides to give up the chase for now. As she starts to leave, a young girl accompanied by two young men on horseback descend from the hills.

Yang Guo recognizes the girl as Guo Fu, Guo Jing's ditsy daughter, and the two young men as Wu Dunru and Wu Xiu Wen who used to taunt him when he was still in Peach Blossom Island. Seeing them again makes his harsh childhood memories surface and his desire to find his Gugu, the first person who has ever been kind to him, strengthens.

Dunru and Xiu Wen has come to avenge the death of their mother,  Wu San Niang who sacrificed her life to save her husband, Wu San Tong from Li Mo Chou's Silver Ice Needles. When they see Li and Hong fleeing from them in great haste, they view this as cowardice.

     After they are gone,
Yang Guo and his companions finally come out of their hiding place and continue on to Jiang Nan. When they reach the quiet town, Yang Guo says his goodbye to the white masked girl and Wanyan Ping. Wu Shuang sulks for a bit but at the last instant, she waves to Yang Guo from the top of the hill. #
