The power of Maiden's Sutra lies not in the combination of the orthodox kung fu of All True Sect and its blackstar, the Ancient Tomb Sect Kung Fu. Rather, it borrows its strength from the will of two people whose aim is not to destroy, but to protect each other from destruction.

Fawang is not match against Yang Guo and Xiao Long Nuu who are moving as one person. In the end, he and his companions are forced to flee. Before they left though, the giant monk, Da Er Ba hands Yang Guo the antidote to the poison. To return the favor, the young man also hands him the cure for the Golden Jade Bee needles.

After the Mongolians and the monks are gone,
Guo Fu and Huang Rong are joyfully reunited. The six of them, at Huang Rong's urging, all spend the night at the Lu's family house.

Yang Guo helps Huang Rong recover from her internal injuries and afterwards, they exchange a quiet conversation.

     Meanwhile,
Guo Fu and the Wu brothers are talking outside. Wu Dunru and Wu Xiu Wen are arguing about their sleeping arrangements for Huang Rong had told them that Yang Guo would share their room. However, knowing the relationship between Yang Guo and Xiao Long Nuu, they suppose that he probably would insist on sharing a room with her.

Guo Fu spots Long as she darts past them. She calls out to her and they speak a while. She asks Long a few questions involving her and Yang Guo. Innocent and direct to the point of being blunt, Long answers her every question honestly. Suddenly, Guo Fu says something to her that is mildly troubling. Confused, she resolves to ask Yang Guo about it.

     Inside the house,
Yang Guo finally tells Huang Rong about the death of her master, Northern Beggar Hong Qi Gong. This news saddens her greatly, especially since the people of South Song meant to appoint the former Beggar Sect leader as the Head of Wulin (Martial Arts World).

Later that night before going to bed,
Xiao Long Nuu asks Yang Guo if he won't get bored living in the tomb with her. Yang Guo is tired by this time and does not think about his words. He says to Long that if they do get bored, they could always go out.

     His answer troubles
Long to no end.#
