Amanda Marie
Listen to my tale
A tale of the sweetest girl to be
With eyes of the purest blue
And the tender name Amanda Marie

At a time we were together
And everything was as right as it could be
Then she whispered in my ear
The secret that she loved me

I met her dad and everything was well
As far as I could see
But suddenly he changed his mind
And forbade her to speak to me

Soon after she moved away
Farther than the eye can see
But where she lives now there is a phone
And we can talk secretly

Despite the odds we carried on
For a little over the year of three
Sooner or later she turned eighteen
And we could meet legally

My friends would always give advice
Words I didnt want to believe
They told me I was wasting my time
And that she would eventually cheat on me

Maybe we didnt have enough in common
Or I guess it just wasnt meant to be
One of my friends hung around too much
So Ill let you guess who she used to replace me

I could let my emotions run wild
Which would eventually drive me crazy
But why should I do that
When Jacksonville girls are so cheap and easy
