En Route To Florida
During the trip from Indiana,
   On Highway 231,
I sat with my family
   In a crowded mini van.

It had been raining
   Night and day.
Memmy, the cat,
   Hoped it would go away.

Mom was laying asleep beside me
   In a comfy make-shift bed.
Dad was the designated driver:
He was good at it (or so he said)

Jerry sat in the passenger seat
   Navigating the road for Dad.
Dad didn't like it one little bit--
But face it; his direction's bad.

The rain came down
   In torrents and showers.
Finally, I slept
   And dreamed of Florida flowers.
