Walter Parazaider Compositions II
From Chicago III:  "Free Country" (Co-written with Robert Lamm and Terry Kath)

This chart is funky - and I don't mean "funk" as in "George Clinton" funk, either.  I mean "funk" as in the fact there's no other word I can come up with to describe this thing.

This piece of music is as subjective as it gets.  No two people will get the same images when hearing it with their eyes shut.  No two people will come out of it in the same mood, either.  Some people will hear a message in it, others won't.  Among those that do, no two will agree on the same message.

You've heard of open-ended films and abstract art?  Here's its musical equivalent.

It's difficult to pull something like this off in music. In this fan's opinion, Walter and his co-writers pulled this one off beautifully.

Walter goes "out there - somewhere" in "Free Country".
