Harry Caray --Stadium Announcer

When in 1998 Harry Caray, the "Voice of the Chicago Cubs" died, a part of Wrigley Field went with him. His singing the 7th Inning Stretch had become legendary. Every time he would call the fans: "Let me hear ya!" Mark Grace had said about him "He was beyond an icon. ... He was the most popular figure in baseball, beyond a doubt." And he was probably right. Since 1982 Harry could be heard in the stadium and on radio every day. When he died, all Chicago mourned.
Chip Caray, his grandson, who went on to take his grandfather's job, said: "I think Chicago lost a grandfather too."
