Harry Caray --Stadium Announcer
When in 1998 Harry Caray, the "Voice of the Chicago Cubs" died, a part of Wrigley
Field went with him. His singing the 7th Inning Stretch had become legendary. Every time he would call the fans:
"Let me hear ya!" Mark Grace had said about him "He was beyond an icon. ... He was the most popular figure in baseball,
beyond a doubt." And he was probably right. Since 1982 Harry could be heard in the stadium and on radio every day. When he
died, all Chicago mourned.
