Chi and Phi's Garden

*"A Second Chance (prologue)" by Chi*

Today had been a busy day for the Cauldron Guardian, which was a rare occurrence, indeed. It was not everyday that people visited the cauldron, much less because existence as we know it hung in the balance. She was happy, nonetheless for the company, and of course, the fact that life and love still existed. In the wake of the occurrence, there were many people to be dealt with and sent back to their homes. She relished public relations, though, knowing that many lonely days preceded and would follow this single hectic one.

Already having dealt with Sailormoon, she checked her name off of the list containing the names of people that had yet to be dealt with. Just checking off Sailormoon's name brought back fond, very recent memories of her to the Guardian's head, and the Guardian smiled. It was not often that the Guardian expressed the emotion of happiness, but just being around Sailormoon make her joyous. Perhaps, it was the purity or the innocence or the infinite love that she possessed. Whatever it was, her aura radiated it everywhere she walked, or so it seemed. That experience was over and done with, though, and there was no use reminiscing over it when there was more important work to be done. Sailormoon had been sent ahead to the future to live her life, declining the invitation to live as her true self, a being of light. All her friends had followed suit, end of story. The Guardian looked once again at her list and the pair of names listed next. She morbidly wondered if the next two on her list would radiate an aura of death, the opposite of Sailormoon's aura of life. It seemed that death was all they knew. They lived and died by the sword. Who knows if they were sorry for their evil ways. They were heartless murderers, and she pondered why this scum of the food chain were on her list. After all, shouldn't they live in eternal death for the heinous crimes they had committed? No matter, their names were on the list, and that most likely meant that they were being given a try for a second chance. The Guardian mused over whether they were sorry and what life there'd be for them to return to. Wiping all emotions off of her face, the Guardian resumed her business-like disposition, and began to walk toward those listed next. She looked like a grim soldier going out to the battlefield. This particular battlefield contained two who would decide their own fate. Ironically, they didn't know this. All they knew was that they were in a dark, cold place and were dead.
