LUCINDA GATEWAY TO AUSTRALIA'S
WET TROPICS
Lucinda is a easy hour and a half drive
from Townsville airport and two and a
half hours from Cairns to the north,
Hinchinbrook is the gate way to the wet
topics of north Australia. Lucinda is
situated at the southern end of the
Hinchinbrook Channel and has the worlds
largest FAD, the Lucinda sugar loading
jetty which extends some 5.78ks out to sea.
The Jetty is home to some very large GT
Trevally that seem to have a fetish for
collecting surface lures.

Lure placement play a major
part in catching barramundi if your lure is not right into the snags where the fish hang then you are going to have a long day, as you can see from the pic on the left a good twenty to fourty lb leader is a must.
