Second-year immature at San Fernando, Trinidad, 2 December 2001. Photos by Floyd Hayes. Note the relatively heavy bill. A second-summer Kelp Gull (L. dominicanus) was considered, but should have a larger and whiter head, smaller and darker eyes, a yellower bill, a darker back, shorter wings and whiter tertials. The flight photos were shot on a different roll of film and appear to be underexposed. | ||||||||||||||||||||
