WHICH SITES CAN GET THE GAYPAGE AWARD?
They must be:
explicitely GAY (It is not ebough to state in the submission "I am gay")
fast to load
easy to navigate
very good in content
pleasurable
Must avoid:
frontal nudity or pornography
hate-racism-violence
just links & just 1 page
password protected parts
adult verification service (AVS) access
Points that will give you positive marks:
- Loading fast
- Updated often, and the update dates clearly shown
- Easy to navigate (not just a back button!)
- The number of pages that compose the Site
- A pleasant layout, easy to be read text (not too small and not on a confusing background)
- Good and original images, fast to load (not too many animated GIFs in the same page)
- Content of the pages (not just links! It must be informative, useful, interesting... perhaps fun or moving...)
- The links must be clearly marked, and have a short, but good explanation of what the surfer can find going there. Just a list of names, logos or URLs earns to the Site very few points...
- The HTML code must be correct, andit is important that the tag for an image contains its size and an alternative description (alt=" ")
- Be "user friendly" (see below the "negative marks")
Points that will give you negative marks:
- Use of Java scripts (not all the browsers can see it, and often it causes the browser or the computer to freeze)
- Use of frames (it becomes a positive mark if the user can choose frames or not-frames)
- Use of music (it is really annoying to be forced to listen to what the webmaster likes, and not to what the user likes!) No negative marks if the music can be stopped, or even better started, by the user,
- Too many animations (or an animated background with too vivid colors).
- Broken links or broken images (a few could be forgiven, if they are external links. But not broken links to the pages composing the Site!)
- Pages too long to load (too many images in the same page, or a way too long text content...)
