The first photo is of a group of Dutch Iris in my former back yard; the second is a close up of one of my Dutch Irises; the third is a grouping of Gerbera daisies; the last photo is a cluster of white lilies from my old back yard.

In the Spring of 2001, I received an Honorable Mention in a local camera club's JURIED photography show. The part that I was most pleased with was the fact that this group rarely, if ever, awards any ribbons to non members. The last two in this section are other photos of the winning day lily

This group begins with a crinum, which looks a lot like an amaryllis; this lily was a very pleasant surprise in my former back yard a few years ago--I don't recall planting it; the blue jay was one of the great animals I met during an interview I conducted at the Wild ARC (Animal Rehab Center) for my Environmental biology class at CCC in New Bern; this spider web was at my knees when I was photographing some of the flowers on this page.
