SUNRISE
The first
published story written by Hanzel
Jay De Castro. It was an enormous success
on Hanzel's part as the story won 3rd place in the Independent Comicbook
contest in the
2nd Philippine Comicbook, Gaming and Anime Convention. It was also another
leap to victory for artist,
Armand Roy Canlas, since he was only a finalist in the same contest the
previous year.
The 16 page comic was included in the anthology of Jon
Zamar, Komiks Atbp.
The anthology included works by other great comic artists like Michael
David and
one page from Elmer Damaso, both artists of Culture Crash Comics.

Awaiting its release within the pages of BlitzWorX Comics.
The story was actually developed by Armand and Hanzel Jay De castro from
a strip originally made
as an entry for the AXN Action Strip Contest. The works of the
finalists were displayed during the
Anime Festival was held last July 7, 2001 at the SM Megamall. The
entry was one of three entries that
Armand submitted, the other two being Xygun and Breach bang
and Clear. The Neo Kaissar and
Xygun strips entered the pool of finalists.
