Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog
Episode Summaries (1-15)
01. Super Special Sonic Search and Smash
Squad – When Sonic and Tails are captured by Scratch and Grounder, Sonic
tells the robots how they first met. Sonic and Tails had found a city
where everyone was hiding because of the Bounty Hunter’s Convention.
At the convention Robotnik shows his hatred of Sonic and puts a price of
one billion Mobiums (money) on his head. Sonic appears at the convention
and the robots chase after him. Sonic outwits the various robots,
which makes Robotnik furious. He creates a new organization called
the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad (or S. S. S. S. S. Squad
for short). Robotnik creates a robot that looks like a rooster (Scratch).
Partially pleased with his results, Robotnik makes a clone of the new robot,
but the rooster robot pulls an extra lever. The result is a shorter
robot with treads (Grounder). They are instructed to capture Sonic.
Coconuts, a monkey robot, is upset since Robotnik demoted him to sanitation
duty. Seeking revenge, Coconuts sets a trap for Sonic and Tails.
The trap backfires when Sonic aims the guns that were shooting at Tails
and himself at Coconuts. Scratch and Grounder also set traps, but
Sonic outsmarts them even when Robotnik shows up. Sonic ends his story,
and Scratch and Grounder are upset over the unhappy ending. Sonic
and Tails quickly escape and run away.
02. Subterranean Sonic – Robotnik sends Scratch and Grounder
to the Marble Zone to catch Sonic. The robots manage to chase Sonic
and Tails to the edge of a cliff. Sonic waits until a geyser stops shooting
water and escapes to the underground caverns with Tails. They discover
an area filled with treasure and an angry mole named Ol’ Spelunk, who fires
a cannonball at Sonic and Tails. Sonic and Tails try to outrun the
cannonball until Sonic uses his speed to escape to an upper level of the
caverns. They follow a set of rail cart tracks and head upwards when
Ol’ Spelunk comes down the tracks in his cart. Sonic and Tails race
down the tracks and Sonic forces Ol’ Spelunk to stop and wait while a family
of turtles cross the tracks. Once the turtles are safe, Ol’ Spelunk
continues onward as Sonic and Tails race back up the tracks. Ol’ Spelunk
realizes that he was tricked and pulls a lever which turns the pathway into
a slide. Sonic and Tails slide down into a cage made out of diamondius,
the hardest substance on Mobius. Ol’ Spelunk pulls a different lever,
which slowly opens the cage floor to reveal a bottomless pit. Meanwhile,
Scratch and Grounder bring Robotnik to the area where they think the jewels
are in the caverns. They use dynamite to find the treasure, which creates
an explosion and results in cave-in. The debris breaks the cage and
Sonic and Tails escape while Scratch, Grounder, and Robotnik fall into the
bottomless pit. Sonic, Tails, and Ol’ Spelunk are trapped as the cavern
continues to cave-in. Ol’ Spelunk refuses to leave his treasure, but
when Sonic saves him from being crushed, he changes his attitude. Sonic
uses his speed to help Tails and Ol’ Spelunk escape the caverns. When
they arrive at the surface, Scratch and Grounder are loading Ol’ Spelunk’s
treasure into Robotnik’s egg-o-matic. While Sonic distracts the robots
by posing as an accountant, Ol’ Spelunk sends sulfurious up the conveyor
belt and lights it to create an explosion. Sonic quickly removes the
treasure from the egg-o-matic before it explodes. Ol’ Spelunk says
he will start traveling around the world helping others, regardless of the
financial cost.
03.
Lovesick Sonic – Sonic rescues Breezie, a hedgehog that was captured
by Scratch and Grounder. Breezie thanks Sonic and gives him a kiss;
Sonic instantly falls in love. After Sonic invites Breezie to eat some
chili dogs, he fulfills her request by bringing an umbrella with chairs.
Breezie mentions that all they need are flowers and that her favorite flowers
are Mobisia Marvelosa Marigoldias, located 2,000 miles away. Sonic
makes the journey, avoiding alligators, cannibals, and a fire-breathing dragon.
When Sonic returns with the flowers, he finds out that Breezie refuses to
eat their chili dogs—she would rather have her favorite chef make them, and
he is 6,000 miles away. Sonic runs to the ice territory, and a polar
bear contacts Robotnik to let him know that Sonic is there. Robotnik
reveals that Breezie is a secret agent whose job is to distract Sonic while
Robotnik destroys a city by flooding it with water from a reservoir.
Sonic later returns with a cold chili dog and Breezie tells him to heat it
up at a location 600 miles away. Tails asks Breezie why she is so mean
to Sonic. Breezie becomes upset and throws Tails into a nearby river.
Scratch and Grounder meet up with Breezie to set up the final traps to catch
Sonic. As they test the traps, Tails flies back and discovers that
Breezie is a robot. He finds and warns Sonic, but he will not listen.
Sonic gives Breezie the chili dog, a necklace, and a poem he wrote.
Scratch activates the first trap, capturing Sonic. Breezie reads the
poem and is moved to tears, so she frees Sonic from the trap. Scratch
activates another trap, but Sonic runs and brings Breezie to safety.
Breezie tells Sonic about Robotnik’s plan, so Sonic runs to Robotnik’s location
underground and ties his machine to the world’s longest bungee cord.
Robotnik is pulled away and the day is saved. Later, Tails gives a
letter to Sonic from Breezie. Sonic and Tails run off to see if they
will run into Breezie again in the future.
04. Slowwww Going – After making Scratch
and Grounder destroy the home of a sloth family, Robotnik reveals his newest
weapon: a slo-mo ray gun. Scratch and Grounder accidentally
shoot Robotnik with the gun, and he beings speaking and moving slowly.
Meanwhile, Sonic responds to the sloth family’s call for help. Sonic
rebuilds the house as Rocket, the “fastest” sloth (since he can fall to the
ground quickly), looks out for trouble. Rocket spots Scratch and Grounder,
who start shooting the slo-mo ray. The ray misses and hits Robotnik
again. Scratch and Grounder set up two traps for Sonic; the first
one fails but the second one gives them enough time to shoot Sonic.
Tails leaves for help and later finds Sonic in a cave. Tails tries
to steal the gun, but Grounder hits it out of his hands. The crystal
inside the gun shatters and Tails successfully steals the gun. Tails
returns to Rocket, who accidentally falls onto the gun. The ray shoots
Rocket and makes him move extremely fast. Tails shoots the rest of
the family, and they head off to save Sonic. While the sloth family
distracts the robots, Tails shoots Sonic. Robotnik returns, so Sonic
shoots him so that he flies out of control. In order to prevent the
gun from being fixed, Sonic throws the crystal into a river.
06. Sonic Breakout – The latest issue
of Crack Ups has been released. Crack Ups is an animated, talking
comic book. There is a pull-out poster of Sonic inside and an animated
version of Robotnik as Humpty Dumpty that cries “Help! I’ve fallen
and I can’t get up!” When Scratch and Grounder get their copy, Robotnik
is furious and order them to arrest the creator. Sonic hears about
the disappearance of Sketch Lampoon on the radio and decides to let himself
get kidnapped to save the Crack Ups creator. After letting Scratch and
Grounder chase him for a while, Sonic acts like he is tired and is captured.
Robotnik decides to place him in a special wing of his new prison which is
filled with traps—including a laser that will fire at anything that is blue.
Once Robotnik leaves, Sonic laughs and says he got a new copy of Crack Ups
from Sketch. Scratch and Grounder open the cell and Sonic gives them
the comic book. When they realize it’s the same issue, Scratch discovers
the poster of Sonic on Grounder’s back. The traps go off and Sonic
escapes. Sonic and Tails begin tripping the prison alarms, which causes
the computer to short-out. Sonic rescues Sketch before the prison collapses.
Robotnik falls on his back and cries for help.
11. Sonic’s Song – Catty Carlisle has
written a new song about Sonic, which is constantly played on the radio.
Robotnik is furious and locates the radio station. He sends Scratch
and Grounder to kidnap Catty while she’s still on the radio. Sonic
hears this and runs to the station. He appears as a reporter from
“Mobius Tonight” and says Scratch and Grounder are instant hits on the
radio. While the robots are overcome by stardom, Sonic and Tails
escape with Catty. When they are safe inside Catty’s secret studio,
Sonic requests to hear the song again. Catty says she doesn’t have
her guitar, so Sonic leaves to get a new one from a store 10,000 miles
away. Meanwhile, Robotnik releases his Music Destroyer robot (M.D.
for short). M.D. heads off to destroy all music and ends up capturing
Catty while she tries to save a baby playing a drum. Tails tries to
save her, but he is thrown into in a windsock. M.D. brings Catty
to Robotnik, who instructs her to write a song. She refuses and Robotnik
orders her to be locked up. Sonic goes back to the studio to find
Tails in the windsock. After freeing Tails, they race to Robotnik’s
fortress and wind up getting captured by M.D. Scratch and Grounder
are upset since they have been demoted to Robotnik’s back-up singers.
In order to redeem the robots, Sonic tells them to let him and Tails go free
and set a trap so that they can be captured again. However, after setting
up the trap, Scratch and Grounder are caught in the trap. Sonic and
Tails find the stolen music instruments and play them, forcing M.D. to self-destruct.
Catty is rescued and she sings “Sonic’s Song” as they walk into the sunset.
13. Best Hedgehog – Sonic and Tails rescue
Lucas, who has been imprisoned for 30 years without a single haircut.
Lucas says when he was in high school he was in love with a girl named
Lucinda. However, Robotnik was jealous and used a robot snake to
strangle Lucas. Lucinda yelled at Robotnik and saved Lucas.
Soon after the incident, Robotnik was expelled and started his life as
a tyrant, making Lucas his first prisoner. Lucas has no idea what
happened to Lucinda and Sonic decides to help. Meanwhile, Robotnik
recalls his version of the story. Lucinda hated Lucas and she was
in love with the good-looking Robotnik. Robotnik says that Lucinda
is now teaching in the Mobius Jungle and promises anything to Scratch and
Grounder if they capture Lucas. Both robots set traps, but Sonic
makes them both backfire and tricks them into telling him Lucinda’s location.
Sonic, Tails, and Lucas find the schoolhouse and Lucinda, who still misses
Lucas. Lucas is nervous, but Sonic convinces him to talk to Lucinda.
Before Lucas can reach Lucinda, he is kidnapped. Sonic and Tails
find Lucas in a cave, and Robotnik detonates a switch. The cave is
actually a volcano that just exploded. Sonic digs into the ground
and emerges with a huge ice block. They board the ice block and escape
from the volcano right before the ice melts. Lucas knows that Robotnik
is going to find Lucinda, who will probably marry Robotnik. Sonic
says he’ll take care of Robotnik while Tails takes care of Lucas’ hair.
Sonic beats Robotnik to the schoolhouse and dresses up like Lucinda in a
wedding dress. Robotnik says “marry me or else,” and Sonic says yes.
At the chapel, Sonic throws rice and cake at Robotnik and then rolls him up
in a carpet. Sonic tells the judge to wait since his services may be
needed. He rushes to Tails and the now groomed Lucas. Sonic throws
Lucas to Lucinda. Lucas proposes and they get married with Sonic as
the best hedgehog.
14. The Robotnik Express – Scratch and
Grounder ride in a train that carries weapons. As Sonic and Tails
approach the train, Scratch and Grounder turn the caboose into a vacuum cleaner.
Sonic and Tails are sucked into the caboose and tied like a mummy.
Sonic spins free and ties Scratch and Grounder together. After Sonic
and Tails leave, Big Mike and Big Chris (“Da Bears”) free Scratch and Grounder.
Da Bears assume that Scratch and Grounder are actually Sonic and Tails
since neither one has seen Sonic or Tails. Scratch and Grounder ask
Da Bears to help catch “Scratch” and “Grounder.” Meanwhile, Sonic
discovers that the train is heading for an incomplete bridge. He
finds a tree which will switch the train to another track once the train
hits the tree. Sonic and Tails head back to the train only to find
Scratch, Grounder and Da Bears there. Sonic disguises himself as a
conductor and manages to get everyone to another train. In order to
stop the train, Da Bears drive ahead and start an avalanche to block the
end of a tunnel. Since Tails is still on the train, Sonic disguises
himself as a coach to convince Da Bears to throw away the rocks and form
a real barricade. Da Bears grab Scratch and Grounder and form a barricade
on the train track. The train hits Scratch and Grounder (who fall apart)
while Da Bears grab onto the train. In order to save Da Bears from
a cactus patch, Sonic grabs the tree, which boosts Da Bears up high enough
to miss the cacti. Since Sonic used the tree that would switch the
train tracks, he leaves with Da Bears in their car and try to finish the
bridge. Scratch and Grounder hop in the train and wonder why Tails
flies out of the train. The train quickly approaches the bridge, so
a part of the bridge is placed at an angle so that the train jumps the gap
onto the other side. Scratch and Grounder are relieved but then scream
as the train runs right into Robotnik’s weapons factory.
