16. Tails’ New Home – Tails gets hurt
after Sonic rescues him from a trap set by Scratch and Grounder. Sonic
is upset and decides to find Tails a family so he will be safe. The
first home Sonic brings Tails to is owned by a klutzy bird couple.
When the house floods and later explodes, Sonic decides to take Tails to
a different home. The next home is that of Sgt. Doberman. As
soon as Sonic and Tails arrive, the dog makes them do push ups.
Suddenly the ground is hit by artillery. Sgt. Doberman explains that
he told his wife to do some artillery practice and then wonders if he should
have waited for her new glasses to arrive first. Sonic and Tails leave
and soon come across a talking billboard with a baby picture of Tails.
Scratch tells them that the baby’s real parents miss Tails and gives them
the address. Tails rushes off to the house. When Sonic and Tails
arrive at the house, it seems like Tails has the perfect home. Sonic
tells the parents to take care of Tails and leaves. Soon after Sonic
leaves, the parents take away Tails’ presents and reveal that they are robots.
Meanwhile, to make himself feel better, Sonic tells himself that he did the
right thing. Sonic remembers how he met Tails after Tails was kicked
out of a bird’s nest and fell on Sonic’s head. Tails had begged to
be with Sonic, and after a couple of accidents, Sonic agreed. Sonic
also gave Tails his nickname after finding out that Tails hates his real
name Miles. Sonic realizes that the parents used the name Tails instead
of Miles, so he runs off to save Tails. Robotnik checks the traps that
were set for Sonic and then ask Scratch and Grounder to deliver a ransom
letter to Sonic. Sonic dresses up as a postman and uses the traps to
catch Robotnik and the robots. Later Sonic apologizes to Tails for
causing him trouble. Tails then tells Sonic that Sonic is his family.
17. Over the Hill Hero – After Sonic stops
Scratch and Grounder from throwing sneeze bombs onto Hill Top Village, Captain
Rescue introduces himself by showing a video of his earlier days as a superhero.
Sonic is upset over the trouble Captain Rescue caused while trying to stop
the sneeze bombs, so Sonic says he doesn’t need the help of an old timer.
Robotnik then reveals his egg-o-matic force field, which is powered by a
satellite. Hill Top Village is the best place for the satellite to
reach the force field, so he sends a robot troop to the village. Sonic
dresses up as a general and leads the robots to walk over a cliff. Captain
Rescue tries to help by using his gadgets, but Sonic has to rescue him instead.
Sonic is upset again and Captain Rescue leaves. Robotnik finds Captain
Rescue and says that Sonic loves to steal the glory and they should team
up to fight evil together. Soon Sonic and Tails see a series of tiny
airplanes. Captain Rescue catches them with a gadget, but he is pushed
backwards. Sonic stands on a spot and Robotnik activates his force
field. Tails helps Captain Rescue, who says he can’t save Sonic.
Tails then takes a rope and manages to pull Sonic away from Robotnik.
Scratch and Grounder begin destroying the village, so Tails visits Captain
Rescue at his trailer. After begging for help, Captain Rescue agrees
to help save Sonic. Captain Rescue uses a rocket to get back to the
town. Sonic boards the rocket and starts flying into the atmosphere
so the force field will become weak. Sonic makes it back to the ground
by getting a ride from a bird. Sonic and Captain Rescue team up to
stop Robotnik, Scratch, and Grounder. After they are finished, Sonic
apologizes and thanks Captain Rescue for his help.
18. Blank-Headed Eagle – Scratch and Grounder
watch a television show where Edgar Eagle saves a female eagle. Robotnik
commands the robots to do something useful, so Scratch and Grounder decide
to see who can catch Sonic first. Scratch puts together an Eagle Copter
Kit that he saw on TV and after much effort flies out of the room. Sonic
and Tails are enjoying the momentary peace when Scratch appears. Sonic
dresses as a police officer to force Scratch to stop. When Scratch discovers
he has been tricked, Sonic dresses as a stewardess. Scratch does not
realize his gun is pointing in the wrong direction, and when he fires the
gun he crashes to the ground. Scratch now believes he is Edgar Eagle.
Later, Sonic promises to help a farmer so that Robotnik will not build a
robot factory on the farm. The farmer’s daughter Henrietta later appears
with “Edgar Eagle,” who will help save the farm. Scratch tries to stop
Robotnik, but Robotnik believes that Scratch has lured Sonic to him.
Robotnik attacks and Sonic and Scratch run away. Sonic tries to jog
Scratch’s memory and soon Scratch remembers that a remote control will stop
the robots from destroying the farm. Sonic and Scratch leave to retrieve
the remote control and Robotnik sends Grounder to stop them. Grounder
sets a trap, but the trap backfires and angers Robotnik. Sonic dresses
as a doctor and wraps Robotnik in bandages. Later, when Sonic grabs
the remote, Robotnik reappears and captures Henrietta. Scratch attacks
Robotnik, who kicks him against a wall. Scratch regains his memory
and Sonic smashes the remote control so that the machines will now destroy
Robotnik’s fortress. Later, as everyone relaxes, the real Edgar Eagle
appears to visit Henrietta (thanks to a tip from Sonic).
23.
Grounder the Genius – Robotnik downloads a genius program onto a computer
chip and installs it into a helmet, instantly increasing the size of his
brain. With Robotnik’s genius, Scratch and Grounder set a trap for
Sonic using a doll that looks and talks like Tails. When Sonic comes
upon the trap, he finds Scratch and Grounder and plans to spins them into
the trap. However Sonic realizes that Scratch and Grounder are actually
dolls, and he escapes as Scratch and Grounder activate the trap.
Realizing that Robotnik must have a new computer program, Sonic goes to visit
Hacker the mole. Hacker has already hacked into Robotnik’s computer,
downloaded the genius program onto a computer chip, and deleted it from Robotnik’s
computer memory. Before Sonic and Tails can see the new program in
action, Scratch and Grounder come after Hacker. Sonic dresses up as
a computer nerd and takes responsibility for Hacker’s actions before knocking
Grounder to the ground. Grounder picks up his head along with some
of the computer chips and becomes smart. Robotnik comes to get Scratch
and Grounder, and Grounder demonstrates his newfound knowledge. Hacker
realizes that the genius chip is now in Robotnik’s hands. Sonic runs
to Robotnik’s fortress and is turned into stone. Robotnik tries to
promote Grounder, but Grounder is not pleased and orders Scratch to place
him in the dungeon with Sonic. Meanwhile, Tails and Hacker have managed
to get the gun that turned Sonic into stone, and they use the gun on Sonic’s
head. Sonic breaks free while Grounder sets up his next trap.
Scratch approaches Grounder and trips, knocking off Grounder’s head. Robotnik
removes the genius chip and Sonic quickly replaces the chip with a stupid
chip; now Robotnik and Grounder are stupid. Hacker crushes the genius
chip as Grounder’s trap backfires, sending Robotnik, Scratch and Grounder
through the sky.
