While Sonic and Tails searched for power rings, they ended up discovering
Robotnik's newest weapon: the Death Egg. The device has the potential
to roboticize the entire planet.
King Acorn's skin began to crystallize upon leaving the Zone of Silence.
All hope was lost until King Acorn responded to Sonic's billionth ring.
Sally sent two teams to search for more rings to help the king. While
investigating the grotto near Robotropolis, Tails was sucked into a tube
that dropped into the sky. Meanwhile, Sonic was captured by Condorbot, formerly
known as Carl Condor.
Part 1
Robotnik contacts Snively from the Death Egg to inquire about the reconstruction
of Robotropolis. Snively lies to Robotnik in order to hide from the fact
that he ordered the robots to be his servants. Robotnik continues to
introduce the Death Egg to Snively. The magic rings from the grotto
have been arranged to protect the Death Egg against external attacks.
In order for it to reach its full power, a Chaos Emerald must be found.
Snively says that the Death Egg is flying too low, perhaps due to excess
weight. Robotnik explains that a swatbot sucked in a lot of debris
while getting the magic rings. Once the debris is disposed, the Death
Egg will take its correct orbit, and Robotnik will find a Chaos Emerald.
Meanwhile, Tails appears from the debris. He spots the swatbot that
Robotnik punished. Tails puts on the husk of the swatbot and sneaks
out of the debris. A swatbot informs Robotnik that there are no more
rings left. Tails traps the swatbot and presses the button to dispose
of the garbage. Robotnik asks if the trash has been disposed, and Tails tries
his best to respond like a swatbot. Suspecting nothing, Robotnik orders Tails
to come to the bridge.
Outside of the Death Egg, Condorbot plans to fly Sonic to Robotnik.
Sonic begins to fight back and soon realizes that he cannot win a battle
in the air. As Condorbot focuses on defeating Sonic, Sonic notices
the garbage that is falling out of the Death Egg. Sonic hits Condorbot
so that it will be trapped under the garbage. Sonic is propelled upwards
and grabs the door. As the door closes, Sonic tries to contact Sally.
The signal does not reach Knothole, so Sonic realizes that he is on his own.
At Knothole, Nicole says she cannot determine the cause or the cure for the
king's crystallization. She says that 68% of the king's body has been crystallized.
Rotor informs Sally that Antoine and Bunnie got lost while searching for
the Lake of Rings. Bunnie has now taken control of the map, so they
are now back on the right track. Rotor then says that he cannot contact Sonic
and Tails. Sally breaks down into tears, knowing that her world is
coming apart. At that same time, Robotnik heads toward the location
of the Chaos Emerald. Tails realizes that they are heading straight
for the Floating Island.
Part 2
Knuckles sees the Death Egg approach the Floating Island and uses his dreadlocks
to fly toward it. As soon as he approaches the craft, a laser shoots at Knuckles.
Knuckles falls to the ground, and Mighty catches him. The Chaotix,
along with Archimedes, saw the Death Egg and ran toward it. Suddenly a hatch
door opens, and two large burrobots parachute to the ground. When the
burrobots hit the ground, they head off in two different directions.
Robotnik orders the burrobots to bring both of the Chaos Emeralds while Tails
realizes he has to come up with a plan. Archimedes tells Knuckles that the
burrobots must be heading for the two Chaos Emeralds. One is in the
power chamber, while the other one is a back-up (from the Super Sonic vs. Hyper Knuckles
special) that is safely hidden. Knuckles orders everyone to fight
the burrobots. Using teamwork, the burrobots are easily defeated.
Part 3
Sonic makes his way through the levels of the Death Egg. Meanwhile,
Robotnik is upset at the destruction of his burrobots and decides to destroy
the island. Tails decides to sneak up on Robotnik and get rid of his
swatbot suit. Looking into the room, Sonic sees only one swatbot left
before he can attack Robotnik directly.
The Death Egg crashes onto the island, determined to force it into the sea.
The Chaos Emerald inside the power chamber temporarily resists the force
from the Death Egg. Archimedes says he trusts the power of the Chaos
Emerald, but suddenly the Floating Island tilts. Knuckles uses the
power to glide off of the island and discovers that Robotnik is successfully
pushing the island into the water. Knuckles says he must find a way
to stop it or he'll die trying.
