Part I:
Sally decides that it is time for her coronation, so she hands Sonic the box that contains her father's crown. The crown has four freedom emeralds, which could give Sally the power to stop Robotnik and free her father. Sonic opens the box, but the crown is gone. Since only the Royal Guard has watched the crown, Sonic realizes that one must be a spy. He runs around the guardsmen in circles, setting off the sprinkler system and short-circuiting the spy. The robot says that the freedom emeralds will be scattered across the four corners of Mobius and starts to self-destruct. Sonic picks up the robot and rushes away. Left behind, Sally and Antoine hear an explosion.

Part II:
Sonic appears back in Knothole after the robot exploded. He says that he saw a Robotnik blimp and prepares to go after it. Sally orders Antoine and Sonic to work together to get the freedom emeralds back. Sonic and Antoine get into a hot air balloon and fly toward the blimp. A Buzzbomber pops the balloon, so Antoine uses a parachute. Meanwhile, Sonic destroys the Buzzbombers in order to destroy the blimp. After Sonic pops the blimp, Antoine grabs Sonic and they float to the ground. A smashed swatbot is on the ground, along with a freedom emerald. The swatbot says he must continue the mission to scatter the emeralds across the air, land, sea, and underground. Sonic gives Antoine the emerald and orders him back to Knothole. Sonic speeds off to find the next emerald.

Part III:
Sonic runs to his fishing spot, where he finds Tails. Diving into the water, Sonic's foot accidentally gets caught in Tails' fishing line, dragging Tails underwater. Sonic swims to a cave (from the previous issue) as he avoids Jaws, a robot fish. Sonic and Tails recover the second emerald, then draw pictures of themselves on the outside of the cave. Jaws crashes into the picture while Sonic and Tails escape.

Part IV:
Once on land, Sonic tells Tails to take the freedom emerald to Sally. Sonic spots a swatbot holding an emerald, so he takes it from the swatbot's hand. The ground gives way, and Sonic falls into a hole. Burrobot, holding an emerald, charges at Sonic and steals Sonic's emerald. Eventually, Sonic steals back the emeralds and tunnels his way up to the surface. Boomer repairs the crown and places it on Sally's head. Sally vows that Mobius will be restored. This would be the end, but Robotnik rants about how he had no role in the story and declares revenge. Sonic and Tails then end the comic.
