Mobius was peaceful until Dr. Robotnik showed up. The freedom fighters,
led by Princess Sally, include Rotor the Walrus, Sonic the Hedgehog, and the
handsome Miles Prower. Miles was treated like a kid, but they didn't know
that when trouble came Miles revealed himself as "Captain
Super Fox-Man the Mutant Cyborg Clone." See the hero's adventures
in "Tails to Astonish."
Tails looks at his comic book and adds it to Robotnik's supply list he found
during his battle with Fiona (see Sonic
the Hedgehog #28 and #29).
The list was proof that Robotnik was running a satellite operation on the other
side of Mobius. Tails says out loud that he won't tell Princess Sally.
Part 1
Sally approaches the dock, and Tails hides his papers. Sally looks over
the Sea Fox, which was built after a Chaos Emerald broke (see the Sonic
the Hedgehog Triple Trouble special), and asks Tails how he likes it.
Tails says it's harmless fun, which makes Sally tell him not to be mad at her
request for Rotor to leave out the oil. Sally says she's looking out for
the next generation of Mobians and leaves to attend a meeting with Sonic.
Tails is furious and hops into the Sea Fox. Sally had no idea that Tails
already had two adventures in the Sea Fox (from Sonic
Triple Trouble, Sonic
#28 and #29). The Sea Fox was already filled with
supplies, so Tails heads off on his third adventure saying that he's a grown
fox.
Meanwhile, a swatbot reports to Robotnik that the supply blimp is prepared to
leave. The swatbot tries to give Robotnik the cargo list so he can check
it with his own supply list (fulfilling a previous order by Robotnik), but Robotnik
says it is alright and destroys the swatbot for its persistence. Robotnik
orders the swatbots to prepare to leave and looks over his plan. The supplies
will reach his regional robo-underboss which will then conquer the southern
hemisphere. After christening the supply blimp, Robotnik activates its
"umbrella cloak" so that no one will be able to see the blimp unless they were
directly underneath it. The blimp will fly over the ocean, so no one will
be able to stop his plans unless they found his lost supply list.
Tails soon finds himself looking on the route where the supplies will travel.
He finds a shadow and knows something is wrong since there wasn't a single cloud
in the sky. Tails flies to the shadow and looks up to see the blimp.
By flying up to the ship, Tails can see that the blimp is heading toward Downunda.
Suddenly he is hit from behind by an aerobot
(a swatbot wearing a jet pack). Tails falls to the ocean, but he is able
to get airborne. The robots approach, and Tails uses his tails to create
a water tornado which spins the robots out of control.
Tails flies into the Sea Fox and is grabbed by Octobot. The robot said
it would get its revenge (back in Sonic
Triple Trouble) and wrecks the Sea Fox. Octobot drags Tails into the
water. Tails tries to get air, but he is soon overcome by darkness.
Robotnik looks at a monitor as a swatbot reports that Octobot destroyed Tails
and his submarine. Robotnik threatens the swatbot for letting Tails to
find the blimp and orders the swatbot to continue the mission. The swatbot
thanks Robotnik, who then turns to contact his new underboss. The underboss
demands to be called Crocbot.
Robotnik tells Crocbot that supplies to destroy Downunda are on the way.
After Crocbot signs off, it whistles for Alpha.
Alpha and the other mechanical wing
dingoes head off to meet the blimp when it lands. Crocbot laughs,
saying that soon Robotnik's swatbots will be rewired to become slaves of Crocbot.
Crocbot will then double cross Robotnik and then take over Robotropolis and
Mobius.
Tails becomes conscious again and finds himself facing a manta named Ray.
Ray explains that Tails was rescued by the Forty Fathoms Freedom Fighters as
he was about to drown. P.B.,
a jellyfish, shocked Octobot. Octobot released Tails, and Ray carried
Tails to the surface. Bottlenose
rammed into Octobot, which made time for "the big guy" to show up. Octobot
was squished and slowly swam away. Ray ends by saying that they found
the wrecked submarine.
Tails is upset, thinking that he is stuck on a small island. Ray moves
out of the way, and Tails thinks that the ground is shaking. A blue whale
named Fluke appears, saying
that he is the biggest creature. Tails walks on top of Fluke's head and
asks Ray if Fluke can take him to Downunda. Fluke says that he can, and
Tails is excited at the fact that he can still stop Robotnik and prove himself
to the freedom fighters.
To be continued.
