often upgrading to the latest version of your
favorite browser will fix this type of problem.
To upgrade or install the latest Netscape browser, go to: http://www.netscape.com/download
To upgrade or install the latest Internet Explorer browser, go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm
Other may also had luck by reinstalling
their browsers. Sometimes the browser may not properly
install the first time and reinstalling it has been known
to help in some circumstances.
If you are a
computer nut like me, you may also want to try the
following to see if your browser is set up properly.
1) Double-check that Java and
JavaScript are fully enabled in your browser:
On Netscape 4.XX, click on "Edit"
in the menu bar, and then select "Preferences."
Click on the word "Advanced" and put checks in
the boxes next to "Enable Java" and "Enable
JavaScript."
On Internet Explorer 4.XX, click on
"View" on the menu bar, and then select "Internet
Options." Click on the "Advanced" tab.
Scroll down until you see the sub heading "Java VM."
Check the box next to "Java JIT compiler enabled."
In Internet Explorer 5.XX, click "Tools"
on the menu bar, and then select "Internet Options."
Click on the "Advanced" tab. Scroll down until
you see the sub heading "Java VM." Check the
box next to "JIT compiler for virtual machine
enabled."
2) Try deleting your cache and history
files.
Deleting Cache in Internet Explorer 4.XX
and 5.XX for Windows:
1. Select View from IE's toolbar (in IE
5 select Tools instead) 2. Select Internet Options 3.
Select the General tab 4. In the Temporary Internet Files
section click Settings. Amount of disk space used should
be about 2%. If the amount of disk space is more then 2%
then drag the pointer to the left to make the percentage
lower. 5. Click OK 6. Click Delete Files. When prompted
whether or not to delete files click OK. 7. Click OK to
finish
Clearing History Files in Internet
Explorer 4.XX and 5.XX:
1. Select View from IE's toolbar (in IE
5 select Tools instead) 2. Select Internet Options 3.
Notice the History Area of this window. Click Clear
History. When prompted whether or not to delete history
files click Yes. 4. Change number of days to keep pages
in history to anywhere between 1-4 days. 5. Click OK to
finish
