This was an exercise in material appreciation in product design. The objective was to develop a kitchen accessory or dining table top item in bamboo. Bamboo has a rich grain flow and hence the product form should appreciate the intrinsic qualities of bamboo. Bamboo gives exquisite colour range when smoked and this is tried along with the Warli motifs and carvings. The basic angular cut supports cutlery from one side also facilitates an easy grab. The set of three units can be arranged in different configurations to bring into play the creative side for the users mind. The product is targeted for the up-end market in India.
