Hoodwinks the publick by deceitful talks?
Gammoning is the act of imposing
Upon a person, unknowing.
Causing him to believe an improbable story
Of past, present or future glory.
Know you a politician that is glib at making
Statements that are misleading
Or deceptive comments,
That are pure nonsense?
Facts and history are twisted as he sees fit
To serve his cause of personal politic.
Perhaps it's only a game of leg pulling
But who is he really fooling?
Is he the one who goes about creating stories
Granting himself all the glories?
Question believability, It's an imposition.
Would have you believe its an inquisition.
Tricks and subterfuge are his tools
As he plays the public as a group of fools.
Lying, deceitful, untrue or false are his chosen words
As he obscures facts about his awards.
Are his stories a carefully planned hoax?
Or perhaps some kind of New England joke?
Barnum would call him a humbug
Caught, he merely gives a shrug.
Subtle fallacious reasoning or arguing
Is the path chosen when public speaking.
He uses, double dealing, tricky deceitfulness
To make his point with finger pointing brashness.
Need I mention dishonesty
Or his Immorality?

Gammon.
Perhaps the other meaning of gammon best applies:
For bacon, hams, politicians and their allies.
Kept in a pork barrel with lots of brine,
Or in dense smoke to obscure their crime.
