Hardware Reviews
Javica and Beyond Software and the moving image

If you like gadgets, but you suffer from chronic buyer’s remorse when you find that the electronic toy you just dropped a couple of thousand dollars on isn’t worth the paper the manual was printed on, you probably spend a fair bit of time surfing the web for reviews. If you’re a seasoned, (okay, an embittered) veteran like me, you don’t believe a word of the advertising hype, and you take even the most unbiased commentary from a commercial website with more than a grain of salt.

Imagine you’ve searched the far corners of the web for information on your next purchase, but none of it describes the true ownership experience of the thing you want. You’ve exercised as much restraint as you can, and the only thing left is to go buy it, and on the way to the store, you meet a friend who just bought one a month ago, and you ask What’s it like?

If what you’re looking for is a soup-to-nuts, hands-on, in-depth, write-up from someone who owns exactly the unit you’re thinking of picking up, that's what I'm trying to provide. Hopefully, you're interested in some of the things I own.

Let me warn you, though - I'm writing these reviews for people who have both the time and interest to absorb a lot of detail. They do not offer the 'at-a-glance' specifications I became sick of looking at when I was doing my research.
