I grouped Music and Variey shows together because most of the variety shows had music segments. Ed Sullivan, American Bandstand, Shindig, The Red Skelton show, The Monkees, The Jack Benny Show, these are just a few of my favorites.
To this day I have varied taste in music and I sincerely believe it is because I was allowed to watch the Musical/Variety shows as I was growing up. My mother still can't understand why I went to see "The Lawrence Welk" show in Branson, MO. last year! Come with me down memory lane and lets remember a time when Variety was the Spice of Life!!
