St. Brigid's is a small girls' national school situated in the village of Newtown, in the heart of the Garden of Ireland, just south of Greystones.

Pupils work hard to achieve their full academic potential in a relaxed caring atmosphere. Schooldays are enjoyable and can be fun for staff and students alike. A great spirit of support and co-operation is the keystone of our learning experience from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Parents, Teachers and Pupils get to know one another in a kind - hearted, generous yet professional manner so that the concerns and needs of each individual are responded to with respect and consideration. The reluctant scholar is encouraged to perform well while the child with behavioural and emotional difficulties is treated in a firm yet caring manner. The right of each child to a first class primary education is valued and promoted. A fifth class student makes the following comment:

St. Brigid's is a school which makes children know that they can have a bright future as a result of great teaching and effective learning.
