a. Study duties of environmental engineers.
b. Learn Water, Air and Soil Protocols
 

April

a. Learn the processes involved as communities come together to study highway impacts.
b. Learn WorldWatcher and ArcView software to create GIS maps of the impacted area.
c. Research the need to move the highway as a result of traffic studies and the MAPS Project
d. Survey members of staff and community to find out how they feel about alignment changes and how they will impact individuals in the community.
 

May

a. Work with city planners and Department of Transportation to design and construct a local part planting trees and shrubs and landscaping it for public use.
b. Research how major highways effect the health and environment of communities close to the construction site.

 

 

This Week

Submit plans, gather funds for implementation.

Next Week

Begin surveying site where pond will be placed.

Analyze area to determine the best place to put the pond considering water, soil, underground obstructions and amount of direct sunlight reaching the area.
