Tatting GR-8 Alternate Threads

2/28/2009

The Shuttle Brothers have published their third Tatting book titled “Tatting GR-8 Alternate Threads”. The book is really nothing fancy, a copied black and white, spiral bound. But they needed to share some of their ideas. The tatting is fancy, and you only need two shuttles.

Think of the Alternate Thread tatting technique as tatting rings and chains at the same time, alternately.

In 2001, they started to experiment with the Alternate Thread technique.  This book is an attempt to show those interested, how they like to tat the Alternate Thread technique with hopes that others will find it as simple and as versatile as they have.

The  “Tatting GR-8 Alternate Threads” book is available from Gary and Randy for $20 plus $4 shipping and handling per order. Check or money order, please. Sorry, no credit acceptance.

Here is a small sample of the types of rings that can be tatted utilizing the Alternate Thread technique.

Not all rings in the picture are illustrated in the book. However, the book can show you the “how-to”.
