Reasons for Immigrating

Throughout history, immigrants have left their home countries to start a new life in a foreign land for many reasons. Perhaps no country has provided so many reasons though, as the United States. Firstly, the United States is one of the few countries that offers such large political and religious freedom. Many also think of it as the land of oppurtunity and success. Immigrants come here due to our long history of economic success and oppurtunity. Almost any person can become a valuable and integral part of our society and lead a successful life. America has also been desirable for several other reasons. One such reason was that in America, young men were not forced to serve long harsh years in the military. They also were quite fond of our government. Our Democratic government meant that new citizens would have equality and participation. We are also a country in which citizens do not have to bribe or submit to powerful officials in order to become successful. For such numerous reasons as these, the United States has truly becoming a "boiling pot of nations."
