Reading Move Listings
This is how to read move listings on this web site. These are the type of listings used for basic attacks, special moves, and weapon attacks. For an example we'll look at the listing for the jump kick.
Jump Kick - (r, h, 3, 3, airborne attack, opponent is knocked back and falls)
The first thing is the name of the attack. This is the attack name you should use when sending in your action. Sending in any of the other information isn't necessary.
Jump Kick - (r, h, 3, 3, airborne attack, opponent is knocked back and falls)
Next is the attack range. It will either be an h for hand-to-hand or an r for ranged. Hand-to-hand attacks can only be used while at hand-to-hand with your opponent. Ranged attack may be used when you're at any distance from your opponent.
Jump Kick - (r, h, 3, 3, airborne attack, opponent is knocked back and falls)
Third is the attack height. There are three different heights, h for high, m for mid, and l for low. It may also be a v for variable attack height. Attack height doesn't come into play much in MK Online, but it's still an important thing to note.
Jump Kick - (r, h, 3, 3, airborne attack, opponent is knocked back and falls)
The first number is the speed. The higher the number, the faster the move is.
Jump Kick - (r, h, 3, 3, airborne attack, opponent is knocked back and falls)
The second number is strength. If the move is an attack, this is how much damage the attack will take off of your opponent if it hits. All attacks will only take off 1 damage if they're blocked, unless the attack does 0 damage normally, then it does 0 damage when blocked.

Last are any special notes about the attack. Here are the most common attack notes:
- airborne attack - Kombatant jumps or floats into the air when doing this move.
- opponent falls - If the attack hits, your opponent falls and will be at -1 speed on their next turn.
- opponent is knocked back - If the attack hits, your opponent is knocked back to ranged distance from you.
- user is knocked back - The person using the attack is knocked back away from the opponent as part of the attack.
- follow-up even if you trade hits - If the attack hits, the user gets to follow up with the attack of their choice even if they trade hits on that turn.
- follow-up - If the attack hits your opponent without your opponent hitting you that turn, you may follow up with the attack of your choice. See the rules page for more information on follow ups.
- unblockable - The attack cannot be blocked.
- undodgeable - The attack cannot be dodged.
- user is at -1 speed on next action if blocked - If your opponent blocks the attack, your next action will be at -1 speed.
- Any other attack notes are explained in the attack listing.
