Elections - 1987
(PW Botha requests a mandate from voters)
A mandate I ask of you,
The same I have asked before,
Please let me carry on giving
To the Blacks more and more.
The last request I made
At the Referendum, you recall?
Was for Coloured and Indians;
This one, friends, is for all.
And please don't be disturbed.
Believe me, it's for the best;
I promise that we will pass
The Internationalist Test.
Just like the others before us -
Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania ,
We'll be given our Diploma
When we became Azania.
So, vote for me and you will see
That I shall not slack the pace
Until we have given the lot
To our brothers of the Black race.
Empangeni, 1987.
