POEMS

Poems are written on the spur of the moment and each one reflects the mood, beliefs and emotions of the writer at that particular time. They are windows into the very 'soul' of a poet, and as that soul changes (or grows) with the passing of years and the absorption of information and stimuli from its surroundings so does that which is penned, for both are intricately connected.

Poems are a true description of the facts as they unfold, though these facts may only be true in the mind of the individual that contemplates and analyses them. To the poet they are, at the moment of writing, the true reflection of his/her perception of events, feelings and thoughts.

Some of the ones here presented will illustrate what the above means in a very clear way. They show the transformation I went through, from acceptance to rejection, from belief to unbelief, from certainty to questioning and to the resignation that it was not meant for humans to attain to the ultimate truth concerning our existence in this small, insignificant planet roaming around in the vastness of the Universe, much less the fate that awaits us after death.

The selection below represents a part of my poetic effort. Most of my poetry was, and still is, written to my wife and as such is private, so you poor folks are stuck with religion ... and politics.
