Tying bimini twist knot step by step, this
knot is super sensitivity and strength for light tackle going
for KBL to trolling of Marlin. It is even better for PE braid
(spectra) line of up to 30kg line.
Begin by tying a small loop in
the end of your line then cutting it off. You will need this
loop as a pull-through to finish off the Bimini later on.Take a
loop of line and secure the standing part by taking a bight of
line around your left hand.
Roll in at least thirty
twists.
Pass the loop over your shoe,
or any convenient fixture like a rod holder in a boat or get one
of your buddy to hold for you, and keep the tension on the loop
so it won't come off.
Keeping pressure on the
standing part, rotate the tag between thumb and forefinger of
the right hand to make the tag spiral back over the twists.
Hold the tag between thumb and
middle finger of the left hand and put your right hand inside
the loop over your shoe and open the loop by spreading your
fingers and sliding your right hand toward the left hand. This
will cause the tag to spiral back over the twists while tension
on the tag is cintrolled by the pressure of your thumb against
the middle finger.
When the tag has spiralled
back to the crotch in the loop, place your left index finger in
the crotch to secure the tag. Then take the small loop you first
made and commence wrapping it with the tag.
Wrap the loop, and both
strands of the Bimini three or four times then pass the tag
through the loop.
Withdraw your loop, drawing
the tag back out from under the last few wraps.
Pull gently on the tag,
rotating the Bimini as you do so until a couple of twists appear
in the loop, then stop. If you pull tag out too far you will
shorten the splice.
