Cassandra a.k.a. "Babycass"

"I'm not interested in age. People who tell their age are
silly. You're as old as you feel."
--Elizabeth Arden

Okay.  So you you would like to know who is the person behind the "Babycass" name.  Or maybe you just want to know who has so much time to spend on making web pages?  (Don't look at me!  I have no time!  *LOL*)  Well, let me introduce myself.  My name is Cassandra and I am a Chicago transplant into the land of fruits and nuts...errr...California.  Or is that the land of milk and honey???

I moved out here many, many years ago as a teenager.  I will not tell you how many because I am not in the mood to reveal my age.  Let's just say that I am 29...FOREVER!   ;-)  Well, I can still remember seeing my first glimpse of the ocean...the palm trees...sea gulls...and beach.  I was in awe...I felt like I had come *home*.  I was sold!   Later on, I realized that there was even more to California then the coast line.   Then, I learned that there were mountains and snow, desert and fun, lakes and rivers...and the list goes on.  By the way, I really am a native.  Honest!  I was born here, though I only lived her about one year after birth.   Then, my parents took me back to the Windy City.

The beach, the mountains, the lakes and desert are all great to me because I tend to like to *play*.  I am probably the only mother of my age on the block who likes to ride her Razor scooter around with the kids and stays in the pool to play with them instead of chat and sunbathe in a lounge chair.  Chuck and I enjoy a lot of sports that involve wheels...or propellers...so California is a great state for us to live.  Of course, America is a great COUNTRY to live in.

By the way, Chuck is this great guy (my best buddy) that I met a long time ago.  We tend to be a little backwards about things, but that is fine with us.  We bought a house before we were married, and we were *almost* old enough to be grandparents by the time we had kids!  *LOL*  Chuck and I balance each other out.  He is outgoing, motivated and tough....and I am sweet, shy and innocent.  *hee-hee*

You may have noticed that I like dogs.   Well, dogs...horses...dolphins...wolves...basically any creature on Earth though I do tend to steer clear of spiders and bugs.  Possibly extroverted at times behind the shields of my monitor, I really tend to be a quiet in person...and it suits me fine to just talk to my animals and listen to nature.

My other site, Babycass's Den, is devoted to dogs and German Shepherds.  Surf on by for a visit, the dogs are friendly as long as you come bearing dog cookies or beef bones...and for me...well, read below....

"The ability to concentrate and use your time well is everything."
--Lee Iacocca

I love toys, too.   I don't think that I ever grew up.   Before Chuck and I realized how wonderful it was to be parents, we were quite the "toy-aholics".  From remote controlled cars to real sand cars (dune buggies), to plastic jet skis for the jacuzzi to real jet skis....we played with them.   Friends and acquaintances got a kick out of us.  "He who dies with the most toys wins" might have been our motto.  However, we now know what is really important in life:  family, and freedom.  Most of our toys are gone now and have been replaced with legos and baby dolls.   Our family is very important to us and our little angels consume most of our energy.  We believe that it is energy well spent though it can be trying at times!  *grin*

"Reverse Life Cycle"

The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends.     I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it?
A death. What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age
home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating... you finish off as a gleam.

"The game of life is not so much in holding a good hand as
playing a poor hand well. "

What's your Animal Totem?

Though I am a Christian, all beliefs interest me especially the Native American beliefs. They are so *natural*.  My Animal Totems or Power Animals are the Wolf and Whale.  Click on the links to read about these totems and learn how you can find out about YOUR totem.
