Project Info

Acquired in our Chinese Comrades, cheap and good. Universal PCBs are not ideal if we talking about stray capacitances and miniaturisation but there are good things like huge possiblity of modernisation of project, components can be added or exchanged, paths can be rerouted, what is not possible in such extend with custom made PCB.

Miniaturisation is of course little bit worse, but not so much. Please remember that on such one layer PCBs, connections can be routed in 4 ways:
1/ tinned wire on the solder side connecting points
2/ isolated (or not) wire on element side (straight line)
3/ isolated wire on solder side
4/ isolated wire on element side (not straight line)

So, even very complicated circuits can be made. Huge disadvantage of this method is much more time needed for such precise prototyping. Please note that precedence in this listing is important, first 1/ connections must be carefully planned, then other layers. Wires for 3/ connections must be very thin and good quality, 'kynar' wire is excelent here but also good quality cables can be source of such wires. All boards should be tinned before assembly.

I prepared special templates [1], [2] which I'm using during design process in traditional paper form.
