Over the last sixty years National Periodicals/DC Comics has given popular culture some of its most famous and complex characters. The shared reality that is called today the DC Universe had its genesis way back in the pages of ALL STAR COMICS #3 with the first meeting of the Justice Society. Since then it has grown via relaunches, reboots, parallel dimensions, the Crisis, the Zero Hour and countless retcons. With writers such as Grant Morrison pushing back the boundaries of the DCU ever further these pages are an attempt to catalogue the nature of that varied universe, the way its inhabitants relate and those that now never were!
The Green Lantern Corps were one of the corner stones of the DC Universe for over thirty years and helped created one of the richest backgrounds for any comicbook series. This is my guide to the Guardians of the Universe and their footsoldiers - the Green Lantern Corps.

This is a work in progress! It is my intention to slowly profile the major incarnations of each of the main Justice League characters, with profiles and secret origin articles. This is also a catch all section where I will list all the profile pages and background articles that I add to this site under other headings.
The Multiverse was an infinite number parallel of universes each with their own version of the regular DC heroes. On Earth-One was the Superman of the Silver Age, on Earth-Two existed the Superman of the Golden Age and on Earth-Three was his evil counterpart Ultraman.
Over the course of fifty years DC (not to mention Quality, Charlton or Fawcett) had amassed a back catalogue of stories, series and parallel worlds that was without rival in the industry. The official line was that the DC Universe had become too complex for new readers to pick up and the decision was made to destroy an entire Multiverse.
At the sametime as Marvel's Squadron Supreme made their first appearance DC created their own world of characters based on the Marvel template. It was a one-shot story, but years later Angor and their toughest bad guys, the Extremists, would feature strongly in Justice League International.
