Students will discover that there are many different kinds of animals. They will also explore how animals are adapted to many kinds of environments. Students will be introduced to the vocabulary words mammal, bird, reptile, camouflage, gills, fish, amphibian, and insect.
Each student has been registered at the Scott Foresman Science website, www.sfsuccessnet.com
Their user name is the same user name they use to access the Harcourt Math website, and the password is the same password with the addition of two zeroes at the end. Harcourt Math assigns a 4 digit password while Scott Foresman requires a 6 digit password. I will send a letter home on Monday (Sept. 18) that will give the web address, directions for logging in, and your child's user name and password.
The students are registered to do many activities, games, and even a few worksheets. They can also read a variety of online books. All students are registered to read All About Animals and Animal Groups, which are the readers that reinforce the concepts presented in the science chapter. I also gave the students access to many other online books that provide additional information about animals.
