If you are a student in kindergarten or first grade, we ask that you save these activities until you reach second grade and can earn membership in the Shooting Stars Club. In the meantime, check out the links to various games and activities on our homepage by clicking on the Home link to the left.
We want to encourage all of our Second Grade Superstars to become members of the Shooting Stars Club by completing as many of the following enrichment activities as they want. You do not need to do every activity or do them in order - feel free to choose the activities that sound most appealing. Bring in your completed work to school so that we can give you credit for that assignment.
We strongly encourage all parents to closely supervise their children any time they are using the internet. We want your child to focus on exploring the websites listed to discover new information, not on simply completing each activity as quickly as possible with minimal effort. Remember, learning is a journey, not a destination! Students who are excited about what they have learned may wish to go beyond the suggested activity by adding illustrations, writing sentences, a report, or making up a story, or come up with other extensions. We encourage and applaud students who show this kind of initiative and creativity!
The number of activities you complete will determine your level of Shooting Star Club membership. Reach for the stars!
20 activities = Blue Star Member
30 activities = Bronze Star Member
40 activities = Silver Star Member
50 activities = Gold Star Member
60 activities = Platinum Star Member
