This revolutionary vampire tale from Anne Rice (who wrote the screenplay, based upon her own novel) blows the roof off all other vampire tales. Brad Pitt plays Louis de Pointe du Lac, a young man who longs for death. Enter Lestat de Lioncourt, a vampire who gives Louis the choice to die or live forever. Louis tells his tales to Daniel Malloy (Christian Slater), the interviewer who becomes amazed at all he has heard. For the first time, vampires are displayed, not as inhuman, disgusting, scary creatures, but rather, as another facet of the human reality. To finally see what a human vampire is like is enough to make this movie enjoyable. Therefore, I am proud to say, without a doubt, that Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles is the best vampire movie to date.
