Sirens: Beautiful sea nymphs who would lure sailors with there enchanting song.

Light Elves: Inspired the lakes and rivers.

Ran: A stormy spirit of the sea, reflecting the shifting moods of the ocean, sometimes helpful, sometimes harmful. She gathered sailors in her drowning net, then dragged them into the sea. Where she entertained them in a coral cavern. Ran loved the flame of the sea (Gold) so you were wise to pocket some before journeying on the Sea.

Selkie: There natural forms are human but they put on seal skins to move through the water. Hauntingly beautiful, these creatures are known to mate with humans, and to awaken within them a yearning for Otherworld.

Rhine Maidens: Ethereal spirits who dwelt in the rivers and lakes in winter, only to flit in the forests come spring. The rivers colors reflected the Nymphs moods, turning black with grief when the lost their gold.

The Rusalki: Thought to be souls of drowned girls, these Nymphs dwelt in rivers and lakes. The Southern sprites were pearly beauties who lured travelers with there sweet song. In the Northern climes they were considered malevolent, unkempt and unattractive creatures, who would grab travelers from the river banks and drown them. In Summer they emerged from the rivers to dwell and dance in the forest, enriching the grass in their wake.

Water Kelpie: which appears as a young horse, lures riders inescapably on to his back and takes them down into the water and drowns them.

Water Wraith: A scowling female who lures or drags traveler's under the surface to a watery demise.

Scyilla: Originally a beautiful sea nymph changed into a six-headed monster, by Circe a powerful Witch, out of jealousy.

Naturally you can draw close to the undines near rivers, lakes and the ocean. A way of communing could be washing with spring water or swimming in a lake, stream or under a waterfall.
